 This website is intended to provide a medium for visitors, guests and members to learn about the ship and her crew and possibly reunite with old friends. The content on this website has been published with the permission of each and every member listed on the site who submitted their content. While we do everything within our control to prevent misuse of the information posted on this site, it is possible that some entity outside of our control can take the information provided and potentially misuse it for various reasons, including marketing lists, spam, etc. We will not knowingly provide this information to any third party as marketing lists or use the information provided us for any marketing strategy. As part of the membership, each member is added to the mailing list to receive the periodic newsletters or other such mailings as might be provided by the website staff to communicate to the members with regards to the website, the ship, future events, new memberships and other information deemed appropriate by the website staff. At no time will this membership listing be used for unsolicited marketing nor will it be sold for any such marketing purpose whatsoever.

If you are on the mailing list and wish to be removed, please send an email to admin@usssumter.org and include "remove" in the subject line. It will be assumed the email address you are sending from is the one you wish removed, so if you have another address that you wish to include in the removal request, please be sure to include it in the body of the message as well.

If you are listed on the site as a member and wish to be removed from the site and all mailings, please submit your request via admin@usssumter.org . While it is not mandatory, please provide a brief explanation for the request. While we would love to keep you on the site as a member, we respect each and every privacy issue and will quickly expedite your request to be removed. You will receive an email in response to your request. You will need to reply to that email as directed in the email, validating your request.
