And Now?

So, where is the ship now?

Leased to Taiwan on 11 March 1997, she was refitted at
Newport News, renamed Chung Ping 233 and
commissioned in the Taiwanese Navy on 8 May 1997.

The other ship shown, USS Manitowoc LST 1180 was
decommissioned on 30 June 1993.  She was leased to Taiwan on
10 July 1996, refitted at Newport News, renamed Chung Ho 232,
and commissioned into the Taiwanese Navy on 8 May 1997.

In 1998 the United States agreed to sell the two Newport class LSTs
which were previously leased to Taiwan
